Sadly our local Pine Rivers Show and the Ekka will not go ahead this year due to COVID-19 mitigation measures. But I’m not giving up on that show spirit all together. So instead of hosting a show stall with giveaways, I’m running a colouring-in competition for the kids.
Entries are open NOW until Friday 31 July 2020 for local primary school aged children.
Each Friday, I’ll upload pictures of shortlisted entries and let my facebook community choose the winners.
There will be four Shane King showbags given away each week (weekly winners announced on Mondays, sample contents above) and a “Golden Showbag” for the overall winner - to be announced on Monday 3 August.
Download the picture for colouring in here, or phone (3448 9100) or drop into my office (232 Young Road, Narangba) if you need copies printed for you.
I am proud to be part of a proactive Queensland Government, protecting our environment in a myriad of ways. In Queensland, the release of balloons into the environment is considered littering under the Waste Reduction and Recycling Act 2011—whether released deliberately or by accident. I was disappointed to see how much balloon litter there was at last year's show - that's why I've chosen this educational picture.
Please write your child's full name, age and school (if applicable) on the back and scan or photograph both sides to return via e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org . Alternatively, you can drop entries in to my office or post to PO Box 39, Narangba Q 4504.
NB: Entries received will be deemed to have given permission for uploading to my facebook page and put on display in my office. Only the first name and age of the artists will be mentioned unless express permission is sought to publish further detail (for example, in the case of the overall winner).
